When we first bought this bookshelf for the living room I knew I wanted to do something cool with it styling wise, but was unsure of what exactly. Being such a large feature with so much open shelving, I was a little intimidated. I had tried styling it a number of different ways, but I think this has been my favorite so far. Balancing flat artwork and more sculptural pieces and keeping a consistent color palette really helped in pulling it together. That and a well knit blending of old and new elements like the books from my grandparents mixed with fun decorative bowls, elements from nature, and old flash cards from a vintage shop. The way you decorate a home or living space tells a story, and objects within it can have so much history. I love blending and weaving stories together whether it is with colors, shapes, sizes or histories!
