The Blue - Green Wall
Some of you might remember our living room from posts I've written on our home decor for various holidays, but I don't believe I've ever shared on here the big update that we made a few months back. When we first started decorating the house, we started with the living room first. We probably spend the most amount of time in this room, as it's our tv room, and the room we gather in when we have guests. We spent almost a year tracking down The Couch, and I spent the longest time debating how to hang our art in here that came with us from the old place and the old gallery wall.

What a Waterlogged Winter, My Deer
Sometimes I marvel at the irony of how hard I strive to make this blog feel as if I live in a much more rural setting than I actually do, while so many bloggers long for the urban feel. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but whenever I try to search for others in my area that have this same interest in life, I mainly discover people shooting at the Willis Tower Skydeck or Millenium Park/ the Museum Circuit. And don't get me wrong, those places are awesome and fun, but I want my blog to feel quieter than all that. I want my blog to feel like an escape to somewhere wild in a different sense... if that makes sense?

Soup's On!
Winter has me all bundled up and leaning into the comfort foods — diving into roasts and things baking in the oven, filling the house with all the comforting aromas of winter. It's also got me wanting to dive into the world of soups and learn a few things about what it takes to make these scrumptious winter suppers!

Our Wedding: Fashion + Beauty
All of the gorgeous photos in this post are brought to you by Kristen Marie Parker, our incredibly talented wedding photographer |
Full Disclosure— This is a long one, folks.
Far be it from me to write a short post when it comes to the fashion choices for the wedding, it was a detailed and well thought out approach when it came to choosing the attire for this event.

Lovin' the Wilderness
It's funny on these shorter days of the year, how it almost always feels like the day is ending and we're running out of time. Even mid-day the sun hits a point in the sky where it streams through barren branches seemingly telling me, "make these last few beautiful hours count".

Oh, Those Flaky Flakes
My original vision for this outfit post was one with snow — something that seems very unpredictable these days! I find it a little humorous that we ended up with a white Halloween this year, but yet the closer we draw into winter, there isn't a flake in sight!

Coats in My Cart
Let's talk about coats, baby!
Oh, coats. So very necessary if you live anywhere that dips below 50 degrees, and so very frustrating for a myriad of reasons!

Winter Fairy World
Today's post certainly marks a shift in the type of imagery that I hope to be creating. I feel like over the years, I've found myself wondering, "how to I categorize myself?", or "how do I explain to others what I do?"
I have always been a consumer of imagery. I feed off of it, really.
It quite literally is something I need a daily dose of. Seeing what others create, and appreciating it, then going out into my world and dreaming up something I want to put out in the world.
I realized that I really do want to create more things that have a fantastical vibe— creating fairy tales as it were.
So here is my January Visual Fairy Tale for you ♥

2020 New Year's Resolutions
I find these end of year reflections to be so useful to me. Instinctively, I like to be able to sum up and reflect on pockets of time, look back at what happened, how I handled things, and try to learn from life's events. So often I worry that I may make a bunch of resolutions and then end up with zero follow through. So making a point to look back and recognize what worked and didn't work is important to me.

January in the Lagoons
A favorite winter trend that I've been loving for a couple of years now is that of confetti knits. Right around this time of year I tend to notice that fashion takes a bit of a nap. We're all so distracted with the holidays and our holly leaves and such that after the new year, I tend to notice fashion taking a halt and sleeping for a bit. We retreat into our homes and appreciate that hygge mood and sip some tea and maybe hit the gym. I feel like winter fashion really
