Gotta Catch 'Em All!

Seeing as Andrew and I recently upgraded our phones, I've finally been able to pick Pokémon Go back up again, and I am just overjoyed!

That and the potential of warmer days on the horizon inspired me to make this little Pokémon art series with some of my favorite Pokés!

Rockin' the Romper

The lakeshore is one of my favorite places to go to clear my mind, and to appreciate the world around me.

Why I Love the Stylebook App

Hello friends!

Today I'm here to tell you all about one of my favorite mobile apps, Stylebook.

It's available on iPad and other mobile platforms, and I've been using it for years now.

Self Care Buys in My Cart

With all the craziness going on in the world, self care is even more paramount these days.  If you're like me, you might have gone into this pandemic trying to power through, find ways to be productive, and have been setting goals to try to continue things as close to normal as could be from home.  And there's a lot to be said for getting dressed every day and trying to keep that sense of normalcy.  But it's also ok to let yourself rest a little more to deal with the stress.

The Gemini Starchildren

Oftentimes in my photography, I see myself as someone other than myself, if that makes sense.

I think of myself as a character in a story much of the time, and it's never been truer than in today's series.

Cooks vs. Bakers

Something I've come to notice as of late is the tendency for those of us foodies out there to either have a gravitation towards cooking or baking.

A lot of times, someone may love the creativity of cooking, but shy away from the rigidity of baking, or vice versa.

Magic in the Mundane

The world has been feeling like a very strange place lately, and some days are better than others in my little corner of the world.

But I've been trying to cultivate as much creativity as I can to lift my own spirits and hopefully spread a little bit of joy to others as well.  I've been trying more and more to have some fun with adding a touch of magic to my art, not only to try to lift spirits, but because I believe that life needs a little bit of magic on a normal day!

Smoothie Bowls — One of my Favorite go-to Breakfasts

Lately one of my favorite go to breakfasts has been smoothie bowls!

I used to go to a Peeled Juice Bar for acai bowls at lunch when I worked at one of my old jobs, and I always loved getting that fresh bowl full of beautiful fruits!  I wasn't sure at the time how one would achieve something like that at home, but recently I came upon a pin from Tasty.co that blew my mind.

Overcoming Discouragement

Today I want to talk about failure and discouragement.

Being an artist can come with it's challenges, some of them being creative burnout and self-confidence.

She's a Sunshine Girl with Flowers in Her Hair

I will tell you that sometimes the original plan just doesn't work out.  I often find that the blogs and creative accounts out there that I am the most inspired by are those that are drenched in nature.  I love to scroll through galleries depicting leisurely strolls through forests and countrysides in long flowing dresses that seem to have just leapt out of a Jane Austen novel.   I yearn for spring blooms like nothing else.

Healthy May

I have to admit, looking at the long term of my health and diet history, I don't think my habits could really be classified as "healthy".

My only exercise for most of my life was what we were forced to do in gym class in school, and I firmly practiced including sugars as a pretty hefty portion of my personal food triangle.

And for most of my life I would argue that this was 'working' for me.   I was fine, no major issues!

My May Capsule Wardrobe

I'm very excited to have styled together my first monthly capsule wardrobe for the month of May!

I'm already loving this process so much, and I think it will make getting dressed each day fun and exciting.
