The Gemini Starchildren

Oftentimes in my photography, I see myself as someone other than myself, if that makes sense.

I think of myself as a character in a story much of the time, and it's never been truer than in today's series.

When I brainstormed the idea for this shoot, it was loosely based on the idea of doing something with twins, and that they would be wearing outfits that were the inverse of each other.   Then I realized I would be releasing these in May and and it became a whole different animal.

You see, I don't know very much about the zodiac, I guess you could say I'm not really that 'into it' like some people are.  But I do know that I don't fall very cleanly into a specific sign, and maybe that's part of it.  I could never wholly identify with a star sign because my birthday is on June 21st, right on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer.

Through life I've had people ask my what my sign is, sometimes as an indicator of what I might be like upon first meeting me, I guess?  And so I've tried to read up on the two signs to see if there might be an indication as to which I was more like.

Ultimately, it's difficult to tell.  I've had people tell me that I definitely was not a Gemini, but maybe it's because they've never seen more than one side of me?  There's elements from both that make sense to me, which is why I generally find the zodiac confusing.  I don't know.

What I do know, is that I had a brand spankin' new set of photoshop lighting brushes and was going into May with an idea for a twin shoot and there's not a whole lot of 'going outside' happening right now, so I dove in head first.

Until Next Time,
