Salmon Cream Cheese Quiche

Quiches have recently climbed in the ranks to become one of my favorite breakfast/ lunch foods.   We have a cute little shop near where we live that specializes in pie and coffee as their main faire.  They also usually have a selection of quiches by the slice available, and they are positively scrumptious!   They really widened my opinion on quiches, and inspired me to make some at home.  Quiches are very versatile, and will last for days' worth of breakfasts or lunches!

Spring Centerpieces — 2 Ways

One of my favorite little touches to have around the house for the changing seasons are cut flowers.

I love picking up some beautiful blooms from our local Trader Joe's (they always have the most beautiful flowers right at the entrance!), and making a pretty little vignette for our dining table.  It's always this little breath of freshness that greets you walking into our main living space, so I love to have fun with it and make it feel joyful.

A Spring Faerie

Seeing all of the little buds popping up here and there is really bringing me some joy at the moment ♥

Dressing in Month Capsules

For some time now I've seen the concept of minimalism and capsule wardrobes prevalently emerging in the fashion community.  It's this idea that putting together an outfit gets that much easier when you only have 30 or so items in your closet that all already go together well.  And the prospect of this is tempting, I'll agree.  The ease of only having a few choices to choose from, and the simplicity of only needing to organize, clean and store those 30ish items is intriguing.

Style Inspirations: Wes Anderson

I have long been a fan of Wes Anderson's quirky stories and brightly colored sets, cinematography, and eclectic styling in his movies.   There is something so terrific about the level of attention to detail in so many scenes in Moonrise Kingdom, the Grand Budapest Hotel, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and I adore them all so much!

I feel that the visual caliber of these movies is a big inspiration to me, and they often float through my head while daydreaming.  Here are some of my favorite movie stills / art from his movies!

Tied with a Bow

For the most part, I am fairly skilled at being self-starting and keeping myself productive and entertained for hours and days of alone time — I'm not sure if it comes from being an only child or just simply from being an introverted creative person.   But most days, I'm able to wake up, get pumped for the day, and go through my tasks that I've planned myself— and I've been doing that for the last 2 1/2 years or so since I started working on my Etsy shop and blog mostly full time.

Brunch It! Eggs Benedict Two Ways

One of my favorite breakfasts is the classic Eggs Benedict.   Anytime I am out for breakfast and I see it on a menu, nothing else has a shot at being the thing I order.  There's just something about that poached egg and hollandaise that just clinches it for me.

So I thought I'd kick off spring with a food post about eggs benedict!

Best Staple Investment Piece, Hands Down

There is one staple piece that I will always recommend to have in a wardrobe outside of your typical pair of jeans or leggings — those pieces that just pull everything else in your closet together and are an understated but important thing to have to make everything else work.

Bring on the Rabbits!

A little while ago I was lucky enough to find two Miss Patina dresses on Poshmark that were my size, so I scooped them up!  I'm so excited to have this colorful floral frock, just in time for spring!  So much so, that it inspired me to make some rabbit art and incorporate it in this week's outfit post, and pull all our rabbit decorations out of storage!

Really, how many rabbits are too many rabbits? Asking for a friend...

What's your favorite spring theme that you like to decorate with?

Some Lovely Spring Crafts

This year, I've been leaning in a little harder on my crafting abilities.  Originally this post idea was about making a DIY for people to make their own stuffed bunnies, but in my journey to making this little guy I realized I really had no clue what I was doing, and I certainly couldn't make it into an easy DIY for people!  This little rabbit friend is lucky he looks halfway decent!

Pastel Dreams

Guys, I think spring might be my favorite season.  Don't get me wrong, I love all the pumpkins and fall colors, but I honestly can't contain my joy when it's spring.  After a long Chicago winter and months on end of seeing all the sad, leafless trees and depressing plots of dead grass, I just can't get over how lovely everything looks in bloom.  We're not there quite yet around here, but I'm starting to hear birds chirping again, and I'm seeing the little green sprouts popping up in people's gardens, so we're not too far off from the best time of the year!

I can't wait for those days when we go outside and just can't stop exclaiming about how nice it is out!
