Floral and Fringe

Note: I wrote this two weeks back, and am just posting it now as I adjust to all the changes going on with our move.  I hope to be more up to date soon!

Greetings Friends!!

I've been without internet and cable since I moved in, and I have to say that it's been a rather pleasant experience going without.  The move went well, and I'll be sure to share more about the apartment as it takes shape a bit more, but really I've enjoyed this little break from technology.  I've been reading cooking magazines, exploring the neighborhood, checking out some of the great food markets in the area (i.e. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's), and unpacking and organizing/ styling.

I can feel this great creative energy running through me — DIY ideas building themselves in my brain ( I literally kept myself awake staring at the ceiling last night thinking endlessly about tufting a headboard and wondering if I could teach myself to macrame a large scale wall hanging) and a sudden desire to skip the frozen meals and drive into some fresh little green trees (broccoli) and roasted pepper salad.  I feel inspired and invigorated; great things are on the horizon for sure.

Style-wise I've been feeling inspired too, granted I've pulled overnights twice this week at work, but the other days I've been pleased with the outfits that came together.  I've said it before, shopping onesies is one of my favorite things and this look features two such treasures.  I think it might be the thrill of the hunt; finding that hidden gem that others might overlook, it's like thrifting but with new merchandise.

The Outfit & About it:

Forever 21 White Crochet blouse.  A onesie I found shopping just before our move.  I tried it on on a whim not thinking I would be as taken with it as I was, and it turned out to be super cute!  It just goes to show that things look way different on the hanger than they do on you.

Forever 21 Floral Skirt. This skirt was also a onesie that I found in the same shopping trip.  I loved how well the two pieces went together and decided that this would be an outfit I wore to work on my first week.

Forever 21 Pretty Tough Combat Boots.  My current favorite boots.  They are very versatile and work well with a wide variety of outfits.

Earthbound Trading Co. Necklace.
