Throwback Thursday: We Went to Seek the Snowflakes

Today's throwback post is one I've been really excited to get to.  Last year my cousin and I did this shoot at a nearby seminary — it's hard to believe that this peaceful oasis is tucked away amongst the hustle and bustle of the suburbs.  The lake was partially frozen and beautiful as we set about our wintry excursion.

It was freezing and we had to pop into the car to warm up a few times between shots, but all in all it was an awesome time.  And it was super peaceful and overall an inspiring afternoon.  We styled the outfits to mirror each other, but I particularly love how Elyse's complemented the snowy scenery.

My Outfit and About it:

Forever 21 black chiffon button down.  A great standard button down that is wonderful for layering and has a subtle gold collar detail.  This shirt is very versatile and is a simple way to give some contrast to an outfit.

Forever 21 Celebrity pink pants.  Yet another good staple to have — skinny pants in a solid color.  These pants add an added pop of color to an outfit without trying too hard.

Forever 21 shoes.  A good standard shoe that is very versatile.

Urban Outfitters Fox sweater.  My boyfriend got me this fox sweater a few years ago, and it is my favorite thing!

Elyse's Outfit and About it:

Forever 21 white chiffon button down.  The white version of the black one above.

Forever 21 beaded sweater.  I love these fun beads sprinkled upon the shoulders of this cream sweater.  It adds another touch of winter to the overall outfit.

Forever 21 ice blue pants.  One of the few pairs of pants I own that are light in color.  They barely have blue pigment in them at all.  Perfect for a winter styling.

Etsy pocketwatch necklace.  A fun way to sport a watch, and one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, though it is now due for a new battery.
