Some of My Favorite Art in Our Home

One of my favorite things about decorating a home is that it truly is a weaving of new and old to tell the story of a person.  What they enjoy, their history, and things that influence them.  Whenever I'm choosing art to put up on our walls, it's always a mixture of things I've been saving for the right moment, things I'm seeking out new, and things from our life's adventures.   I love being able to look around and be reminded of several different memories from life at a single glance.

So I've rounded up a handful of my favorites from around our home to share their stories!

I'll start with this one from the title image first.  This sweet little line drawing was a gift from the florist from our wedding, and I just love it to pieces!  Vanessa was the absolute best and I loved working with her so very much.  She has an incredible eye and knows just the perfect touch to make things pure magic :)!  I love having this piece of art of hers hanging in our home!

In our living room, we have one of my first art purchases of this whole assortment.  This was a canvas print bought off of Society6, an artists' website full of beautiful prints and other items you can purchase.  This artist is Christian Schloe and he has a wide variety of surrealist art that I adore up in his Society6 shop!  I love surrealist art, and just adore the colors used in this one!

In a similar vein, the piece that I just chose for my office space is one that I bought from
an Etsy artist, Janet Hill.  She has a shop full of beautiful vibrant and whimsical
art prints for sale, and let me tell you, it is difficult to just pick one!!

In our bedroom there are a number of favorites of mine, but I'll just call out a couple.  On the left is one of our wedding photos that
we got printed to fit this enormous gilded frame that I had purchased from an estate sale.  I'm really happy we decided to
get this one framed, as this was one of my favorite pictures of Andrew and me on our wedding day ♥

On the right is a picture that my grandfather painted on glass that I've had for as long as I can remember.
It means the world to me, and I think of him every time I see it (which is everyday, as it's one of the first things I see in the morning).

On our mantle, we have one of our engagement photos from Kristen matted and framed in another vintage frame I found at an estate sale.  We had this one printed as a metallic print, and had custom glass put in at Blick.  We love it so much and think it looks like something out of a Wes Anderson film where we are miniatures!  We love it!!

Flanking the fireplace, we have a number of art pieces that I picked out.  Some are from my favorite local vintage shop (bottom right), one is from Society6, this time Bree Madden's shop (top left), one is from Home Goods (bottom left), and the last is a print of a photo I took on the beach where Andrew proposed ♥ (top right)

In our Mountain and Forest foyer rest a number of mountain inspired art pieces that I found at various vintage stores, as well as some photos that I took on our own adventures.  I think my favorite one is the one that sits right behind our little trinket/key box, that I took when we hiked at Wahclella Falls the year before the Eagle Creek Fire.  That magical place will always hold a special place in my heart ♥

Until Next Time,
