A Touch of Honey

"We were romantics.  We didn't just read poetry.  We let it drip from our tongues like honey."  — Dead Poets Society

Sometimes when I'm brainstorming how a shoot will work, or what I want the set for the whole month will feel like, I start imagining a mood, or framework for how I imagine it will all feel once it's all shot and together.   And of course it's a little trial and error getting to the final result and seeing
how it all actually ends up working together, but there's always some sort of mood I'm shooting for.

For June, the mood I've got swirling around my head is that of honeycombs and bees.  No, not because of the "killer bees" that are buzzing about in the news, but because for me, June feels sweet and sundrenched, and sticky and gooey, sort of like honey.   When I conjure up a picture of "June" in my mind, it's a mixture of bees and honey and the long sunny days leading up to the summer solstice, which also happens to be my birthday.  So my aim is to make everything feel honey drenched with playful nods to bees and those long summer days that linger in my mind from childhood.

Hope you enjoy this first set of honey toned June vibes, I'll be off running through the fields of daffodils and other blooms!
