A weekend ago I went to my cousin's graduation party/ College going away celebration (Congrats Elyse!), and as with all celebrations, a wonderful way to really get the happy goin' is to devour some delicious food. So my mom made these awesome miniature sub sandwiches
out of pretzel bun breadsticks ("What?" you say? "Such a thing exists?" you say? Yes, yes it does.), salami, spinach, cheese, tomatoes and last but not least chive mayo. Do I really need to say anymore? I'm drooling just writing this. She also made another variation with asiago breadsticks and prosciutto. I'm dying. She had some leftover ingredients and I ended up taking them back home with me and devouring them for the following lunch and dinner. Couldn't resist. Let's just get in another shot of these buddies:
Stop. Just stop it, mom. I'm already a huge food snob, you're making this an uphill battle with your chive mayo and your pretzel breadsticks.
Enough.
I also had the opportunity to make some of my party favorites: festively themed cut-out cookies. She's going to Southern, so I thought I'd make some education/Southern/graduation-themed cut-outs. Her cookie is the apple with the worm in it, thanks to my hilarious boyfriend Drew.
So there you have it. Delicious food for a magnificent day. Also, a pic of the happy grad (just ignore me and my awkwardly parting hair):
So many food posts! I've got to mix it up here soon!
That's all the Lovely I've got for now!
