Breaking Down Your Walls

Last week I talked a little bit about identifying your own personal style trends and taking time to
recognize colors, styles and fabrics that make up your wardrobe.  This week I'd like to talk about not letting these guidelines bog you down when you're shopping or picking out an outfit.  You may be drawn to neutral tones, but this doesn't mean you should necessarily avoid colors all together.

Similarly, if you like pairing sweaters with jeans it doesn't mean you can't also consider laying one over a cute dress.   The main point here is, don't let your personal style keep you in a box.  You dictate your personal style, not the other way around.

I've noticed that people seem to have a lot of hang-ups when it comes to fashion.  Rules are meant to be broken, and especially in fashion they can help us to step out of comfort zones and be more creative.  In other words, use your personal style as an opportunity to branch out and expand your interests, not as a box to keep yourself within. Your personal style, just like you, is ever-evolving.
