You Need to Calm Down... and Just be Marvelous

I have seriously been so excited for this and a few upcoming posts for so long now.  Get ready for some Halloween costume inspo from yours truly hitting the blog today and in the next couple weeks!

My first installment in this series is inspired by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel that I have been loving. so. much.

Everything from the quick-witted writing of Amy Sherman Palladino to the set and costume design is so perfectly on point.

And honestly, this costume idea came together just from things in my life fitting perfectly into scheme with her look!  Our kitchen cart was already looking pretty bright and retro-inspired, providing a great backdrop, and I recently came into possession of this gorgeous vintage Lily Pulitzer dress that fits the Maisel costume parameters perfectly!

Lastly, I realized that while usually I'm not very into makeup, I would be remiss not to acquire some bold lipstick for a Maisel look.  Turns out, Revlon has made a lipstick line specifically inspired by the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!!   I picked up shade 668 "Primrose" to use for this look, because I thought it echoed the pinks I had going on with the wallpaper and the vintage earrings that I picked up on my antique shopping adventures in Champaign recently.

Check out the details on my Maisel look, and keep tuned for more TV and movie inspired costumes coming up!
