Style Inspiration: A Very Blair Thanksgiving

A while back I wrote a post about Spencer Hastings from Pretty Little Liars, and I thought since thanksgiving is tomorrow that I should hop to it and make this next post in the series about Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl and her Thanksgiving Stylings.  The show always made a big deal about Blair's favorite holiday being Thanksgiving, and some of my favorite outfits of hers came out during the holiday episodes. So here goes: some favorite Blair Waldorf Thanksgiving outfits!

This may actually be my favorite outfit of hers in the series, and it premiered so early on!  Her earth-toned lace dress is one of my favorites with its shorter hem line paired with a higher waist line.   I also love the ruffled trim that is both on the edges of the 3/4 length sleeves and the bottom hem of the dress. It's not pictured here, but the hem is about thigh-height.  I also love how it is paired with a simple headband and simple, longer gold beaded necklace to let the dress speak for itself.  The whole outfit is elegant, but both simple and intricate at the same time.  Top it off with the adorable over-jacket that still shows all the detail of the dress, and its perfect!

In the same episode, there is a flashback to 'last year's Thanksgiving', which shows her wearing yet another cute dress of a similar color palette.  This one has an intricate print, and is about the same length, but this time its sleeveless with a large bow front.

Season 2:

In season 2 Blair ends up skipping out on Thanksgiving dinner, but I was still quite fond of the outfit she was wearing the day before, so I thought I'd include it. For some reason ruffles really seem to fit with a thanksgiving theme, and I think this outfit is pretty good inspiration with the autumn-toned ruffle blouse she's wearing.  It's paired with a midi-length A-line skirt in a grayish brown tone, which you can't really see in the picture, but I couldn't get a good screen cap of any of the moments where you could see it.  But I love this outfit because it demonstrates thinking outside the box.  Often I find myself looking for a really perfect dress for occasions like this, but a well styled skirt/blouse combo can be wonderful too.

Season 3:

I just love Blair's style.  She can range from something really traditional like the first outfit, to something somewhat modern in the second season, to this, which I feel is a marrying of the two.  This dress is a classic cut, with a modern, graphic pattern to it, but its in this wonderful olive color, with I'm assuming a velvet applique for the detailing.  I also love that she paired it with the black filigree tights to add even more detail to the outfit.

So there you have it, some of my favorite Blair Waldorf Thanksgiving styles!  What are you wearing this thanksgiving?  Are you more traditional in your holiday style, or do you opt for the more modern interpretation?

  1. If I could have even 4 pieces of Blair's clothing, I think I could go the rest of my life without purchasing any more clothes.
