2013: A Year in Review

I know it’s been a while since my last post, and even longer since my last solid streak of current posted content.  For this, I apologize.  It’s been a crazy couple of months and with the holidays thrown in I got a little distracted with life.  Regardless, I’d like to dedicate this post to the last year’s festivities.  I think its important to look back, appreciate, and learn from our experiences. That being said, here we go:

2013: A Year in Review

I started out the year finishing up my final semester in college, majoring in photography and graphic design.  It was only a few months, but it felt like a lifetime!!  My main projects centered around creating a brand surrounding my etsy shop for handmade goods.  I had lots of helpful models/roommates to wear my creations for my shop!

When I got opportunities to travel home, I had lots of fun shooting pictures with my younger cousin, both for projects and for fun.

Over spring break, Drew and I went up to the city to see the fish at the Shedd Aquarium and eat at Cosi.

In the Spring, I lived in a cute house with some awesome roommates.

I worked on some awesome projects in my classes, including food photography, darkroom photography, and print materials for my senior class.

In school I completed my degrees with a portfolio review for graphic design and a senior thesis show for photography.

In May, I graduated from college.

After School ended, I moved back to my parents' house in the suburbs to look for a job and funnel my creativity into wall collages and creating a workable home studio environment.

In June and July Crissy and I began meeting and talking about starting a partnership small business providing event and lifestyle photography.  We even had meetings in the city working through our business model and other details.

August was the month of many beginnings.  During this month, I started posting outfits to my blog and turning it into a little bit more of a style blog.  It was also the month that we finally launched our photo business, Fox and Hound Photo!

In September I went to a bunch of different craft shows both at home and in the city.  It was at this point that Crissy and I discovered Antique Taco in Wicker Park, and I discovered Once Lost Jewelry.

In October I had lots of fun exploring the pumpkin patch with Drew, as well as embarking on an adventure to the North Woods!

In November, I was able to get a bunch of good outfits up on the blog featuring the turning leaves... such a pretty display!  I also started my new job fashion merchandising, and got to go on a trip to do training for it.  Crissy and I also got up to the city one more time to see Tessa Violet and Mike Falzone!

December, as always, became a giant yarn-ball of things to do, and consequently I wasn't able to get a whole lot photographed for the blog.  But Crissy and I did come up with this great Christmas photo:

So there's that.  : -)

So there you have it, a Lovely Red Fox 2013 in Review.
I can't wait to get started posting for 2014!
