Our Home For the Holidays

It is that time of the year again when I share with you guys how we've decorated the house for the holiday season!  Transitioning seasons in the house is so much fun for me, and I enjoy bringing out some of our decor from over the years and mixing in new things to keep it ever-evolving!

Last year I made a fun ball garland, so I wanted to make sure to incorporate that again, as well as finding new ways to style things from previous years!

In our living room I wanted things to feel pretty classic Christmas — reds and greens and whites with lots of classic red plaid!

In here I decided to have our little 3ft tree do something a bit different — he's sitting in our usual blanket basket this year!  I've seen this across Instagram a bit, and I am loving it!

Part of wanting to mix it up with our little tree this year is because we got a normal size tree for the first time!!  This was such an exciting day ordering it and setting it up, as well as stringing the lights and ornaments on!   We decided to go with a snow-flocked tree, and I'm so excited!  It feels like we're in a winter wonderland!

On the other half of the apartment (where our big tree and dining area are), I wanted to go with a more multi-color, gold and white look, bringing in softer tones to the palette including pink, blue and yellow!

What's your thought process when you're decorating for the holidays?
