August Capsule Wardrobe

Hello Lovelies!

Excited to share with you this month's capsule wardrobe, inspired by mermaids and sea themes.  Check out my moodboard for the month and the pieces I've chosen for this month's outfits!

Mermaid and Sea Moodboard

This month's capsule pull is mainly based on sea inspired elements, with colors of varying depths of teals, deep aquas, light blues, and peach, blush and pink, with sprinkles of silvers and golds.   I'm excited because I feel like this color palette is a lot more "me" than the one from last month, and I'm eager to start styling!!  :)  I also love a touch of whimsey, and I am intrigued about styling both light + airy mermaid inspired styles, as well as dark and moody ones.  I've always been drawn to the sea, so I'm super inspired this month!

Tops

I've chosen 7 tops this month, and two sweatshirts, just in case of a chilly evening.  5 of these are oldie/goodies, and those that were added I think will develop into some much appreciated staples.  My favorite of the bunch is the oatmeal peter pan button down — I really love the silhouette of it!!

Layering

For layering items, I've picked an array that spans the blue/ teal color family, and these were all items I already owned (honestly they were sort of the original inspiring factors for this theme!).

Bottoms

For this month I chose 8 bottoms that I think will make a really strong set.  A lot of them were oldies, with 3 new additions.  My favorites to highlight here are the new Madewell denim shorts, and the black linen pants I got 2 years back from Francesca's.

Dresses

We've got 5 dresses this month, ranging from mini to high/low, to maxi lengths, and varying styles and colors/ prints.  I'm very excited about the boho maxi with bat wings from World Market, as well as the pink high/low dress that I recently thrifted from Poshmark.  And definitely my new Son De Flor dress that Andrew got me for my birthday that is very special to me.  Son De Flor is an ethical company from Lithuania that makes very high quality linen dresses.

Accessories

This month, I've chosen a fun array of shoes and bags and hair accessories that I am excited to play around with for styling outfits.  Again, I'm making sure that each bag has a pair of shoes to match, and that my hair accessory array lends itself to varying hairstyles.
