At 5,400 ft, the Paradise area of Mt. Rainier National Park gets into the subalpine zone — a beautiful array of resplendent meadows and young pines with Columbia Crest looming in the background. This area was
unbelievably beautiful when we visited in October, as all of the foliage was turning for the autumn. It would be beautiful any time of year, but this was a truly spectacular treat.
