Easter Carrot Pin DIY

So this Easter, inspired by my newfound toast pin (he was missing for so long!!), I have resolved to make carrot pins!  I didn't make a printable stencil, but the shapes are hopefully pretty easily
replicated from the photos.

You will need:

- One piece green craft felt (floppy)
- One piece orange craft felt (sturdy)
- light colored twine
- pen
- scissors
- hot glue gun + glue
- mini hole puncher
- pin backs

First, cut your main carrot piece out of orange felt. Then cut the below green piece out of your green felt.  Line up the two layers and trim away excess green felt sticking out the sides.

If you'd like to add the stitching to your carrot, now is the time to do it.  You'll want to punch holes in your orange piece with a mini hole puncher, and thread your twine through.  When threading your twine, cut a length long enough to complete all your stitching.  Make a small knot on one end and start threading your lines starting from the backside of your orange piece, so the knot will not be visible on the finished piece.

Next, heat up a hot glue gun and line the edge of your green felt only in the areas where the orange will cover.  Then generously add glue in the center to secure the back of your stitching, and line up your felt pieces, pressing them together while the glue is still hot.

Now all you need to do is glue your pin back to the back of your carrot, and Voila!  you have yourself a festive carrot pin!

Happy Easter!
