Why I'm Blogging // The Lovely Red Fox Turns Two!

*One of my first Outfit Posts

In some ways it's hard to believe that its only been two years (and two days) since I first started this blog. Part of me feels like I started it just yesterday, and yet another part feels it was ages ago. Pretty much from the moment I started this blog, I knew two things:  I needed the adventure, and I wanted
to share — anything and everything creative I could come up with with whoever cared to read it.

* A page of a Zine I made in college, with a poem inspired by one of my favorite Patd songs.

*Darkroom print of my room Senior Year

When I was younger I would doodle random words that came into my head — meaningless word conglomerations — into notebooks, make endless scrapbooks and push all my friends and family to page through them, make all my roommates model for my fashion shoots in college, and write endless choreography for my high school color guard team and sometimes just for myself.  Basically I was a big annoyance to everyone around me : P!  I've always had this need to emote creatively somehow.  I've always needed some unbounded, unrestricted outlet in my life where I can manifest all these weird ideas I have buzzing around my brain.

* Bond Falls

* Sleeve detail of a vintage blouse

*A Rhapsody in Blue

*Crochet styling last Spring

*In the wintry woods last month

So the creative buzz is the chaos, which is calmed by the existence of this blog.  I love being able to go out and experience the peace of nature and create something to share with people.  Whether it's hiking along waterfalls in the upper peninsula, visiting a pumpkin patch, or simply discovering some hidden wonder of nature right around the corner, I live to explore.  I hope I never get so wrapped up in the rest of life to the point where I forget to embark on adventures.

I certainly subscribe to the ideology that we only become boring as adults if we let go of our child-like wonder.

I vow to be in awe of the miracles of the world every single day of the rest of my life.

So here's to one more year.

  1. Lovely post! Happy 2 years and 2 days to you! You certainly are one creative blogger whose posts I enjoy reading. You take beautiful photography in some gorgeous settings. Never grow up! My dad always laughs when I'm around him and says, "You've still got a lot of child left in you," and that's exactly what I want. :)
