Decking the Halls for the Holidays

Oh how I wanted to you be able to share this with you sooner!  I know it's been about seven months since we moved to our new little 'partment, and I have yet to share a real room transformation with you lovelies.
We've certainly gotten portions of the house put together at this point, but I feel like I'm hitting patches all over instead of full rooms at once.  My apologies!

So here we have all bright and festive for the holidays, our living room!  :)

It's definitely been a drawn out process, but I just wanted to get everything just right.  We have been on the look out for the perfect couch and just recently were able to snatch up this beauty from World Market.  I knew a pop of color would really round out this space, but choosing a colorful couch is such a big decision!  Plus, we wanted to consider comfort, price, and I of course wanted it to be pretty too >.<!  I think this one hits all the check boxes, and we got it on a superb sale over the Black Friday weekend.  We love the low back and firm cushions, and I felt the green color would transition seasons well.

In addition to our new couch friend, I also spent a great deal of time making this felt ball garland for holiday decor.  I've recently taken up needle felting (actually not that recently, as I had embarked on that rug a couple years back that I never finished, lol), and man is it time consuming!!  But I just love the garland, so I'm excited that it's done!

In general, I've found that swapping out your home accessories for a few festive pieces really brings the holidays into your home!  For the season, I brought in our usual tree and stockings, and added a few fun touches like the ball garland and reindeer coke bottles.  Simple touches like switching out pillows and blankets help it feel festive, as well as swapping your more holiday themed books and candles to be more focal.  Sometimes just a simple rotation of decor makes all the difference!
