Blustery Boughs

I mentioned in my last outfit post how things don't always go how you plan them.  Well this shoot would probably be the epitome of that sentiment.  I originally wore this outfit to a family event and loved it so much that I wanted to make an outfit post out of it.  I'm not one for frequently showing denim looks, but I

loved the high-waist element and the embroidery, plus I really liked how it all went with this cardigan.  But the number one reason I wanted to feature this look was because I finally figured out an outfit where I could style this hat... and a pair of fashion glasses I have.  And of course, during the chaos that was this shoot... I forgot to put the glasses on.

I've had this hat for a few years now, and I LOVE it.  It has a beautiful hershey's and cream bar coloring, with little dark flecks scattered throughout, and a delicate black band with a silver bar.  All this and it seems every outfit I try to wear it with it looks ridiculous.   It's not too big, it's not that it doesn't fit my head, it just doesn't go. with anything.   And I was so excited the day I threw this together and it all clicked (even more so with the glasses!).

   

But guys, this shoot just majorly failed.  I actually shot this on the same day as the Snow-Scapades shoot, but this one was after.  I was cold, my fingers were like frozen popsicles, and suddenly it was very, VERY windy.  Like, out of nowhere.  In most of the pictures I had to hold the hat or hold it on my head because the wind was likely to take off with it.  Drew held the camera and tripod down and we were both keeping an eye on our bags and my coat which were flight risks as well.  So after just a few clicks we decided to call it as I had just the bare minimum to make this post.  And while I'm actually pretty happy with these shots considering the conditions during the shoot, I had planned on doing more details (and including those glasses!), so hopefully I'll be able to go out and get a few more before this is set to post but we'll see!  The weather has been looking pretty formidable in these parts!
