Ah, what a wonder a good geo print can be in your closet. Though it's not referenced in these photos, a great monochromatic geo print can be wonderful when it comes to print mixing, and also adding interest to other outfits. I love it here because it allows the outfit to stay light overall, but it adds an added layer of detail, and the size of the print keeps it small enough to be subtle. I love the great A line shape of this skirt — and it has pockets, people!!! I mean who doesn't love pockets? Can we even think of a downside to pockets? no? Didn't think so.
When I was styling this I had all the bones of the outfit laid out (skirt + leotard + blazer + shoes), and it felt very formal and businessy, which is all well and good, but doesn't really reflect my personality. Adding the extra accessories really helped add that quirky layer and brought it into a more lindsay-esque territory. Sometimes it really is the accessories that really tell a story and tie everything in.
