Thoughts a Flutter

Since summer has wound down, and the excitement of my mother's farmer's market season is coming to a close, I've found myself standing on the precipice of a sea full of possibilities.  I'm looking forward to some exciting things coming up for Fox and Hound Photo, the photography business that my friend Crissy and I own, and I'm also faced with some decisions moving forward on other ventures.  Aren't we all?  If there's anything I've gathered from life since leaving college, it is that our life paths are an ever-changing, jumbled path of craziness.  There is not one straight path.  Instead, our paths are branching off and mixing together all the time.  And every once in a while we get to a clearing where we can take a deep breath, ponder the path we've traveled, and plan for which one we're going to head off into next.

I've been playing around with some ideas in my head, and I've decided to use some of my creative energies to re-vamp my etsy shop for the upcoming winter season.   My goal is to design a thoughtful set of accessories that are not commonly found, but are that much more exciting to wear!  Hopefully I will have more progress on this to share with you next week.  For now, I can tell you that I've chosen a fun set of fabrics for this winter collection, and I will continue my design experiments this weekend.   Everything should be pretty affordable, nothing more than $30, so I hope they will make for good christmas gifts or decorations.  But that's all for now!

This shoot serves as a little bit of a mood board, I'd like to think.  Anything designed for this line would fit in nicely in this wooded setting and with this outfit.  Additionally, I think this outfit might be one of my favorites yet.

The Outfit and About it:

Forever 21 lace dress.  I bought this last year along with a lightning bolt print dress, and I feel like the two have become "classic" in my wardrobe.  I don't know whether this is because they are both blue and I am drawn to blue pieces due to my eye color, or if it's something about them being A-line dresses.  Regardless, they seem to easily pair with a lot of things I own, and thus have become very prominent pieces for me.

Jones New York blouse.  Swiped borrowed from my mom's closet.  I borrowed this blouse from my mom's closet for my Lovely Red Fox lookbook shoot back in February, and fell in love with it.  It's really nice quality, so I won't keep it hostage in my closet, but I do hope to borrow it a few more times for shoots.  The fabric is silk, and so soft, and it feels divine to wear.   Jealousy ensues.  Further more, it is not visible in this outfit, but it has adorable button detail in the front.  Another day, another outfit, another post, surely.

Pouch necklace. From my grandfather long ago.  I think this ended up in my possession during a road trip at some point in my youth.  I keep a small caramel colored rock inside of it from back then.  My grandfather has always been into rocks and would always come to my class and teach the other kids about different kinds of rocks during the geology unit in my elementary years.

Express tights.  I don't understand how these are so durable.  I've had them since May now, and wear them quite regularly.  Is this real life?

Ros Hommerson shoes.  Found at Goodwill.  Love these shoes.   They are adorable, but pretty impractical, and have no traction.  I am still a fan, though.

Golden leaf earrings.   These are clip-ons that have also been in my jewelry box forever.  I think they add the perfect touch of gold to finish off today's Ootd.
